The deadline to nominate a nonprofit leader for the American Express NGen Leadership Award is May 13. The award honors one accomplished nonprofit leader age 40 or under who has already demonstrated significant impact in addressing society’s critical needs.
The 2010 Award was presented to Darell Hammond, co-founder and CEO of KaBOOM! for his work creating great play spaces for every child in America through the participation, revitalization and leadership of communities.
By recognizing the contributions of one transformative leader, this award raises the
national profile and visibility of diverse leaders across the nonprofit and philanthropic community. To be eligible for the award, the nonprofit professional must be employed by a U.S.-based nonprofit or non-governmental organization and demonstrate transformative impact in his or her field. The leader should display a proven ability to collaborate in innovative, inclusive ways, and identify needs, generate solutions and assess progress toward goals.
Self-nomination is not admissible. The recipient of the American Express NGen Leadership Award will be announced in late July, and will be recognized in Chicago during the Independent Sector Annual Conference, Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
