Kamehameha Schools begins search for new trustee

A trustee screening committee for the nonprofit Kamehameha Schools has begun searching for a trustee to replace Diane Plotts, whose term ends in June. The Hawaii Probate Court appointed a seven-member trustee screening committee last month to assist in the search.

Members of the screening committee are Richard Coons, Wendy Crabb, George Freeland, Cheryl Kauhane Lupenui, Benjamin Matsubara, Wesley Park and Michael Rawlins. The committee will supply a list of three candidates to the Probate Court; the court will then select the new trustee.

The new trustee will serve a five-year term and may be eligible for an additional five-year term. Trustees receive $122,000 in annual compensation. The committee is seeking active community leaders who have a strong commitment to and will work to perpetuate the vision and legacy of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, according to a prepared statement.
