Starfish TV wants to air nonprofit PSAs and videos

The Starfish Television Network is making a media request. They want to air your PSA’s and other video programming, regardless of length as a public service to you and your constituents. Click here for a video introduction to Starfish TV by former CBS Early Show co-anchor and reporter Jane Clayson.

Types of programming requested from your organization:

  • Promotional Video
  • Historical Overview
  • Documentaries
  • Fundraising Gala Highlights
  • Recruitment Video
  • Events  (Projects, Initiatives, Distributions, Fundraising Activities,  “Walks”, etc.)
  • PSAs of all lengths, as long as they are in English

The Starfish Network is America’s first charity and service channel. It airs on Dish Network and is itself a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Starfish features programs about individuals and organizations, like yours striving to make a positive difference in the world.  Its mission and purpose is to help nonprofit organizations tell their stories and to increase participation and volunteerism.

As a public interest channel, Starfish follows the PBS model for sponsorship and programming. That means they will recognize the organization and its sponsor and direct viewers to a website and phone number for more information, but they cannot talk about price or permit a direct call to action.

In return for airing your programming, Starfish wants nonprofits to spread the word about your programming airing on Starfish. You can view the Starfish Network on Dish Network 1000 Platform, Channel 9408 or by internet streaming – click here for more information and to see the internet video stream.
