Honolulu office space available for nonprofits

The Kukui Center

An office suite of 2,416 sq. ft. will become available in January 2010 in the Kukui Center, a collaboration of eight nonprofits that serve abused and vulnerable children and their families in a renovated and centrally located building on the edge of Chinatown.

The building is owned and operated by the nonprofit Kukui Children’s Foundation, which seeks a tenant providing  compatible and complementary services that is interested in being part of this innovative new project. Advantages of co-locating with other nonprofits include shared resources, staff and training, the potential to participate in developing new programs, and making a range of services available to clients in one site.

All tenants must serve a CDBG-eligible population and provide services in the center; administrative services alone do not qualify. Although one tenant is optimal, several compatible or complementary programs interested in sharing space will be considered. A conference and training room is available at no cost to tenants.

The cost of the space is $3,624 per month – $1.50 per square foot including common area maintenance. Parking is available at $50 per month per space. There is ample visitor parking. Interested parties should contact Judy Lind, KCF executive director, (808) 373-1224, (808) 398-1875 or Kukuichildrensfoun@hawaii.rr.com to discuss eligibility. See  http://www.kukuicenter.org for more information.

Castle and Cooke Community Service Center

Nonprofit office space is also available at the Castle and Cooke Community Service Center, better know as the Aloha United Way Building, at 200 N. Vineyard Blvd. Catholic Charities will be moving from their spaces in the AUW Building as they complete the renovations to their new home on Keeaumoku Street. This means that over the next two months various sized spaces will become available for new tenants. Suite A310, with 1,895 square feet of space and 4 parking stalls, is available now and AUW is open to having groups of agencies as co-tenants share space. Organizations interested in discussing rental options should contact Rod Miller, (808) 356-1110.
