Proposals sought for community-based coastal restoration

Hawaii Community Foundation and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Restoration Center have announced the Community-based Coastal Restoration Grant Program, a funding opportunity for on-the-ground coastal and marine restoration projects led by local community groups and community-based partnerships.

The national goals of the NOAA RC are to support quality restoration projects that ensure healthy and sustainable fishery resources, advance innovative restoration techniques, engage local communities in stewardship and outreach/education efforts, encourage collaboration between public, private, and agency partners and encourage science-based monitoring to evaluate restoration project success.
