Hawaii DOH gets $3.6 million for mental health services

The Hawaii Department of Health will receive a total of $3.6 million in federal funds over five years for mental health services for adults. The Mental Health Transformation grant will be used to train service providers in the department’s Adult Mental Health Division network in areas such as comprehensive trauma screenings and trauma-specific recovery, the state said in a prepared statement.

Hawaii previously received a Mental Health Transformation Incentive Grant in 2006, which brought $10.95 million over five years to the state and identified trauma as a significant training area for Hawaii communities, according to the statement.
