State releases $4.5 million to Hawaii Health Systems Corp.

The state has released $4.5 million to the Cincinnati, Ohio-based nonprofit Hawaii Health Systems Corp. for improving state hospitals on Maui and Oahu, according to Gov. Linda Lingle’s governor’s office.

Maui Memorial Medical Center will receive $2.5 million to finance the design, construction and equipment to upgrade its patient monitoring system and $2 million will fund the design and construction of additional parking for Maluhia Hospital on Oahu.
