The Hawaii affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is offering grants to organizations working to find cures, provide screening and assist women and men to prevent and fight breast cancer.
In addition to funding research, the affiliate funds non-duplicative, community-based breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects for the medically underserved in Hawaii. In 2011, it awarded more than $325,000 to local community programs.
The grants are for a maximum of $25,000. The deadline for applications is Dec. 7. For information, go to http://komenhawaii.org or call (808) 754-6659.
