The Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation announced on Sept. 2 a $5 million grant to Chaminade University. According to the Pacific Business News, the grant, one of the largest the university has received, will be used to complete refurbishment of the school’s administration building, Freitas Hall, which will be renamed the Clarence T.C. Ching Hall.
The Ching Foundation earlier this year announced similar $5 million grants to Catholic Charities Hawaii and the University of Hawaii. The foundation is Hawaii’s third-largest charitable foundation accepting grant applications and supports qualified, tax-exempt charitable and eleemosynary organizations throughout the state.
