The Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities is accepting applications and nominations for the second class of its leadership development program designed for emerging professionals in philanthropy.
The program is entitled PLACES, which stands for Professionals Learning About Community, Equity & Smart Growth. The initiative is a national philanthropic learning initiative with the intent to deliver place-specific unique, high-quality learning opportunities for grantmakers working on a variety of issues across the philanthropic sector.
The one-year program is structured to provide a challenging learning and networking experience that will begin with an in-person meeting at the TFN 11th Annual meeting on March 22, 2009 in Pittsburgh, PA. Funders that are engaged in work focusing on civic participation, social equity, regional land use, transportation planning, housing, health, education, and economic development are encouraged to apply.

Funders are encourage to self-nominate or to nominate others. Applications are due by Nov. 2.
