New art exhibit offers insight into lives of foster children

Foster children served by Family Programs Hawaii were encouraged to participate in art workshops under the direction of various artists and instructors. Through their brush strokes, crayon markings and other creative media, the children were able to express themselves, improve their self-awareness and connect with their inner voices and talents. The result, HeART of Our Keiki, is a unique art exhibit of more than 50 pieces of artwork created by foster children ages 2 to 18 that offers a glimpse into the lives of children in foster care.

Sponsored by Bank of Hawaii in collaboration with Family Programs Hawaii, HeART of Our Keiki will be on display at these venues during October, allowing the community to learn more about the lives and needs of our island keiki in foster care:
