Take advantage of Green Zone Recycling at Children & Youth Day

Hawaii’s Children and Youth Day is providing a place to recycle those items that you just don’t want to throw away into the landfills. Clean your school, office and home by dropping off recyclable items at the drive-thru on King St. next to the Main State Library and on the walkway near Queen’s Liliuokalani’s statue at the Capitol.

The Green Zone will accept: Computers and monitors, one television per car, printers, scanners, cameras and PDAs, cooking oil, cellular phones , printer cartridges, plastic bottle caps, telephone books, magazines and newspapers, plastic bags, cardboard egg cartons, drink trays, used eye glasses, usable household items and clothing, used hearing aids, golf balls, career attire and accessories for YWCA’s Dress for Success, pet food, blankets and towels.

Canned goods to help feed Hawaii’s hungry are much appreciated, too. For free towing of unwanted cars – call Rene, (808) 306-1876. Green Zone Recycling is online at http://www.hawaiicyd.org/2011/GreenZoneRecycling.asp
