Harvard Business School offers nonprofit programs

The Harvard Business School’s Social Enterprise Initiative is offering a number of social enterprise programs to strengthen the capacity of nonprofit leaders to improve the effectiveness of their organizations. These include:

  • Governing for Nonprofit Excellence: Critical Issues for Board Leadership – offered from Dec. 2 to 5 on the HBS campus, this program focuses on the role of the nonprofit board in improving organizational effectiveness. Cost is $3,300.
  • Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations – offered in Spring 2008 at the John F. Kennedy School of Government campus, this program explores the principles of organizational performance-based management, helping nonprofit executive directors, board members and other leaders develop metrics suited to their organizations and missions. Cost is $2,800.
  • Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management – This intensive program, offered from July 13 to 19 on the HBS campus, provides a broad-based learning experience to help senior nonprofit executives become more effective leaders. Cost is $4,500.
