Bishop Museum apoints Tim Johns to be CEO

The Bishop Museum board of directors on Aug.3 named longtime Hawaii business executive Timothy E. Johns to assume the positions of president, director and CEO of the Honolulu nonprofit on Oct. 1., replacing interim president Michael Chinaka.

Johns was chief operating officer for the Estate of Samuel Mills Damon and former chairman of the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources. He remains an at-large member of the DLNR board. He was also vice president and general counsel for Amfac Property Development Corp. and the Parker Ranch Foundation Trust named him a trustee in 2005.
