Hawaii Business magazine encourages nonprofits to sign up for the fifth annual Best Places to Work program. “There is probably no better way to differentiate your organization and boost morale than by being named a Hawaii Business Best Places to Work,” said David Tumilowicz, Hawai‘i Business publisher.
Past Hawaii’s Best Places to Work winners have included many nonprofits on all islands, including the Waikiki Health Center, Aloha United Way, Imua Family Services, Hospice of Hilo, Life Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Maui, and others.
With the changing economic environment, employment at companies ranked as Hawaii’s Best Places to Work is a big plus for today’s most qualified job candidates. It also serves as a reinforcement of the benefit of being employed at a highly desirable organization and complements employee retention efforts.
The process of being evaluated for Best Places to Work is simple, and free. The research is conducted by Best Companies Group, which conducts similar research in 20 different statewide markets across the country. The program consists of a questionnaire regarding your organization’s employment policies, and an easily completed 15-minute employee survey administered by Best Companies Group. All organizations receive a customized summary findings report as part of their no-cost participation.
While determining who made “the list” is exciting and beneficial, most companies agree the optional Best Companies Group Employee Feedback Report has real value. Participating companies may purchase this in-depth report identifying the strengths and weaknesses of their workplace according to what their employees had to say for a nominal fee and use it to build a better workplace.
The employee surveys are confidential and information derived from these surveys will only be used in a manner that reflects positively upon your organization. Companies that participate are only identified if they make the list of Best Places to Work.
Sign up for Best Places to Work online before Sept. 19, or contact the magazine at (808) 534-7535 with questions. HANO members qualify for free subscriptions to the magazine; click here to subscribe.
