Family Support Services of West Hawaii changes name

Family Support Services of West Hawaii has changed the agency’s name change to Family Support Hawaii, reflecting its island-wide programming since the beginning of its Malama Perinatal Program in 2007. For information on services provided by Family Support Hawaii, call (808) 326-7778.

Family Support Hawaii will operate as a DBA under Family Support Services of West Hawaii. The organization was established in 1979 by community volunteers who were concerned for the well-being of the Big Island’s children. Executive Director Patrick “Paki” Story said Family Support Hawaii is committed to expanding its presence island wide to continue to promote its mission “to support families and communities in providing love and care for our children.”

Family Support Hawaii also recognizes and thanks JoAnn Bishop Freed for her nearly 30 years of tireless work and dedication to the families of our community. “JoAnn’s impact to the communities in West Hawaii, as well as the entire state, is immeasurable,” Story said.
